Smath,
It looks like you have a fine start to visual math processing tool. Congratulations.
I am an old Mathcad user, and I am looking for the subscript keystroke. In Mathcad, this is the period key.
(If the hint is in the Reference book, I sure missed it.)
Thank you in advance.

Hello, Heavy. In SMath Studio for a subscript you can type "[" from keyboard or use el(..) function with 3 arguments. For now you can use only 2-dimensional subscript, for example: (download an example) So, unfortunately, you can't change subscript's dimension with the period key. It will be fixed in one of the next versions of SMath Studio.

Smath, Thanks for the reply. By subscript, I was not referring to an array or vector index. The subscript I am referring to is only an additional text descriptor in the subscript position. In my ignorance, I can not figure out to attach an image to this post. Code:<p>HTML illustration for x sub r: xr</p>

Ok, it's clear now. This feature will be able soon, but for now it is not implemented.

Glad to hear this feature is in the works. With the subscript addition, I think you will have implemented all the major functions that I would use. Hurray for me! Thank you for your work, and I look forward to your next release.

Hello. Subscript for variables, functions and units implemented. This feature will be available with a new version of SMath Studio. For now, you can test it using SMath Studio Live. See also: Variable with subscript. Regards.

The subscript I am referring to is only an additional text descriptor in the subscript position ... I notice that for about 7 years it has not posted on this subject. The question remains, however: Is there the possibility of using subscript or superscript commands in text areas? In another idea, would I also like to know how to generate a multiline text in SMath? How can I re-edit an image object once it has been inserted into a SMath worksheet? Generally how can a complete scientific work be done on a SMath worksheet? If there are any tutorials and / or examples to answer all these questions, then I apologize, but I did not find them.

1. Easy from "Writer region" +++ more from Davide Plugin ! 2. For multilines => press Shift+" 3. An image pasted in Smath is a dead object, but you can treat it ~ [about] same as in Mathcad. 4. For your scientific stuff, if not too long => post in this forum. 5. To subscript a function/var ... after the name, type . [dot], type the subscript.

Hello Jean Giraud.
I thank you for your answer. About the subscript to a variable or function, I caught the motion, being something similar to what is used in MathCAD. For subscript / superscript text and multiline text, I would kindly ask you to give me some links to some examples if you do not mind. The other issues I will take in order when the time comes.
All the best.

Hello.
Multiline text problem - resolved. I would like to insist on the issue of editing text in the "writer region" - issues such as: subscript / superscript text; bulky text; text cursive; underlined text; text color; background color to text; bullets and numbering text; text alignment, or font selection, font size, increase / decrease of text indentation, etc.
Otherwise, all the best.

You have all that from the Writer region.

Hello Jean Giraud.
Thanks for your answer. I found (by chance) the toolbar specific by the path: Insert / writer region / right click + settings. I would be indebted to you if you could tell me the way of such settings in the future. I'm using this forum, just because there is currently no SMath program guide attached.
Otherwise, all the best.

You can find the full documentation about the Writer Region in the dedicated topic here as well as in the Interactive SMath Handbook by Martin Kraska (tools > interactive books > (switch from local storage to online gallery)). |
If you like my plugins consider to support SMath Studio buying a plan; to offer me a coffee: paypal.me/dcprojects |

Hello Davide Carpi.
Thank you for your specifications.
Otherwise something is wrong with my Thanksgiving button and I can not use it. Maybe you could identify the causes and fix the problem.
All the best.
