When you open an Smath session, you may not want this/that and disable
the corresponding plugin(s). Vice versa: you may want the "Writer region".
1. Open Smath
2. click on insert "W" ... [|], click right, click left "Settings".
3. click on the [-] reduce. At this point, the Writer region is reduced
and you can work w/o it and recall from the Smath tool bar.
The writer region is there and not there for the all session.
I like it this way, it is such a magnificient tool, especially for
the availability to get more function symbols, though I didn't find
the X bar [statistical mean].

You can use CTRL+SHIFT+O to display an overbar on a text selection. Good
