  • This is a great piece of software! I use it on my Linux machine. With best regards from Munich, Germany.

  • Must have for every engineer.

  • Excellent tool for electric engineering. Must have portable software on your USB key. Symbolic calculations is a great value for electronics.

  • Smath is a very simple program to use. It´s similar to Mathcad and it´s free. I use it for my spreedsheets at work. I recommend it, without a doubt.

  • Very good app! Thanks a lot for it!

  • I have used MathCAD since 1997. Loved it. I used to work for the Nuclear Industry in Canada, and we had these long calculation sheets fully written in MathCAD. As an independent researcher, I also had a student version which I could simply purchase from a campus bookstore as a CD. A few years later, disaster struck! A greedy corporate entity purchased MathCAD and destroyed it. A tool created for engineers by engineers with engineering in mind was destroyed by MBAs with only money in their minds. I was helpless until I discovered SMath. I was amazed at how SMath could do so many things with the installation file being just a few MB! And Andrey simply gave it away to us for free!! SMath has truly filled the void left by the now-extinct "old MathCAD". The fact that SMath is not bloatware and gives us researchers exactly what we need are reasons enough to call Andrey a genius. My dear Andrey, many of us are out there in various parts of the world quietly blessing you for helping us do our research calculations. You are a noble soul with a spirit that cares for a better world. Trust me, you have in your own way made our world a better place to live through SMath. God bless you. I shall surely donate an amount as a symbolic gesture for your great work. Please continue to serve the world and may God bless you with good health, a long life, peace, prosperity, and a sound mind that scientifically contributes for as long as you live and pave the way for your glorious legacy long after we are all gone.

  • I strongly encourage professionals who use the software for commercial purpose to donate. SMath Studio, in my opinion, is better suited for documenting engineering calculations than MathCAD Prime 3, which is commercially developed, and is considered to be the software of choice by many. As engineering professionals, we all pay yearly professional license fee; if we donate a fraction of that fee to Andrey it will let him to continue working on this extremely useful and functional tool. Thank you, Andrey! Long Live SMath

  • Found out that this software is as powerful as commercial softwares. Many thanks Andrey.

  • The best software for Engineers. Easy, lightweight and comprehensive. Kudos to its Developer.

  • Great free software. I use it for calculations of civil structures. Thanks a lot.

Is there a way to open several instances of the app in that version? Not like a few windows with different documents, but few system windows with different documents. Looks like it doesn't work now, but worked in previous version. Now it's super inconvenient because it's impossible to work on few monitors in different files at the same time.

Not clear what you could do before and not anymore.
When you open a PC session, you have nothing yet
At this point: click on the Smath icon TaskBar ... bingo Smath.
From there, you can open any Smath work sheet from wherever
in the PC box as you have a single Smath session.
Now, if you want another Smath session, double click on the
Smath icon in the DeskTop ... not TaskBar.
You then have a 2nd Smath session identified page 1.
Do that as many times as you want independent Smath sessions.
Now, to reach those Smath sessions, hover on the Smath icon
on the TaskBar ... click on the one you want identified page 1.
From the Smath menu "Open", browse for the document you want
from wherever in the PC box. Do same for the other not yet opened.
Now, you have as many Smath sessions as desired for each of
your active screen for multiple consultations.
But, all that is BS & BK [Bull Shit & Book Keeping].
Open documents from a single Smath sessions ... open any number,
I know no limit. From your individual screen just consult the
one in cause. Just works great Win 7, SS 6179.
It can be done other wise.

Hi. I ask for this feature, which is good for low resources systems, because SMath is some slow starting. I guess that it's in the c:\Users\##USER##\AppData\Roaming\SMath\settings.inf the option, but can't find where.

Check this: https://en.smath.com/forum/yaf_postst17103_About-messages-and-smath-instances.aspx

Hope this helps.
Best regards.
ALvaro.

Does it work this way for you ?
3 double click on the Smath icon Desktop.
The first Smath instance takes > 1 min
2nd & 3rd instance 45 sec.
Now, you have 3 Smath sessions, each one to be filled
from your main Smath documents directory

Hello, new stable builds have not been release for a while now (more than one year).
I would like to know if future plans for development on smath are still ongoing and, in case, if a new stable build is going to be released?

Thanks
Bye!

Everything is OK. It is not a first time in a project's lifetime when development was paused.
Currently I've almost finished work on my other projects so plan to return to SMath very soon.

Best regards.
