Peaucellier–Lipkin linkage
The first planar linkage capable of transforming rotary motion into perfect straight-line motion, and vice versa. It is named after Charles-Nicolas Peaucellier (1832–1913), a French army officer, and Yom Tov Lipman Lipkin, a Lithuanian Jew

A-shaped Hart's linkage
Similar to Peaucellier linkage, Hart's linkage (Hart's inversor)
employs inversion to convert between circular and rectilinear motion.
Compared to the Peaucellier linkage, Hart's device uses fewer rods.
