Hello,
Can I gave the angle of the polar form displayed directly in degrees?
Is there a solution to reporting the rectangular form with real and imaginary parts?

Thank you,

Hi Basile.

I guess that you can't.

Even you can redefine those functions

Clipboard02.jpg

degrees are dimensionless, and disappear as unit when you use them

Clipboard03.jpg

So, you can introduce them into the definition, but don't appear in the answer, like meters, so, guess that it could be a bad idea introducing because you don't see them in the answer.

Best regards.

Not sure what you are after ?
[x:=3,y:=6] => arg(x+y*i) ...
Cartesian2Complex [x:=3,y:=6] => (x+y*i)

Simple: if "U_ not defined" ... because [x,X] not defined
conclusion: your ODESOLVER plugin NOT installed.

Hello Basile:

It seems that Smath Studio current version is working very erratically.
I also had the same problem with graphics, and sometimes they appear and sometimes they do not.
I did the following: I opened the file of Jean, and the graphs appear without graphing anything
and box in red, deactivate the Maxima plugin, and I recalculated the file, and then the graphics appeared.
I close the file and the program.
Again I open the program and the file, the graphics can appear or not, if they do not appear,
then I enable the Maxima plugin and then the graphics appear again.

It seems that the Maxima plugin is causing the problem.

What's going on?

That's why I say that Smath Studio is running very erratically, in the drawing
I show 2 different runs of the same file on the same computer with the same
version but with different results.

How have I arrived at these results?

In the first case, I open Smath Studio in a normal way with all the plugins activated,
I open the file, and the result is that it does not graph.

For the second case, I open Smath Studio, I disable the Maxima Plugin, I open the file,
and then the program correctly graphs, I close the file and the program. I open the program
again and activate the Maxima Plugin, now I open the file, and then it graphs correctly again.

I do not know what may be causing this erratic behavior.

I found the real cause of the problem, and it is the decimal separator,
If you use the period as a decimal separator, then the program causes error and not graphics.

If you use the comma as a decimal separator, then there is no problem

Basile,

In options, change the decimal separator from "Point" to "Comma", (from "." To ","Wink

With that change, the file works correctly.

Try disabling the Maxima plugin, that may work.

Your box [PC] may be freaked...
Not from clean purchase, games ...
At this point of all tests, there is no other explanation.

You are right but I remember too many thanks from Mathsoft Collaboratory
hints: illegal PC, illegal Mathcad, unprotected visits [mostly caused by
not Auto Win updates], poor legal games that convert PC => XBox and don't
return to Win user ... illegal games [assured killer... reinstall legal
Win version from CD on same machine].
My little finger is called "spy finger" !

Hello Basile:

Why not try to run the file in a portable version of Smath Studio like Martin Kraska's?

The correct link is found in my signature, you can also go to the wiki and search for "portable".
There is no update yet for the current stable release. I am busy with adjusting the docs.
