    Andre,
Is there a way of hosting the WIKI in a different way? My company's firewall setting sometimes "blocks" access to it. Especially when I click on a link within a forum response.

    Hello there!

First thanks very much for this fine s/w product.

    Now my problem:
I run a Linux system (openSuSE 12.1). Well, I exploded the tar ball under $HOME/bin/SMathStudio,
got a number of files but, alas, no README, no HOWTOINSTALL . What I got list as following:

    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 book
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 mimis users 304640 Jul 29 2012 canvas.dll
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Feb 10 18:37 doc
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 entries
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 EULA
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 examples
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 mimis users 101376 Jul 29 2012 ioman.dll
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 lang
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 mimis users 112640 Jul 29 2012 NuLib.dll
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 plugins
    -rw-r--r-- 1 mimis users 877819 Feb 10 18:06 SMathStudioDesktop.0_95_4594.Mono.tar.gz
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 mimis users 592896 Jul 29 2012 SMathStudio_Desktop.exe
    drwxr-xr-x 2 mimis users 4096 Jul 29 2012 snippets
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 mimis users 77824 Jul 29 2012 SyLib.dll

trying to execute directly $./SMathStudio_Desktop.exe did not work!
trying to execute through wine $ wine ./SMathStudio_Desktop.exe generated an other list of protesting nonsense concluding "wine: Install Mono for Windows to run .NET 2.0 applications.".

I tried to install mono (?) but yast gives 76 packages most of which have obscure descriptions. What exactly does it mean to "install mono". The link provided at the SMath download page leads to a repository (http://download.mono-project.com/archive/3.0.3/linux/x64/) with ~25 packages - does one need them all?

Is there an installation howto somewhere that I am missing?
Any ideas on how to proceed?

    Thanks in advance

    Mimis

    Mimis,
On Linux you need to install the package "libmono-winforms-2.0-cil" (or equivalent, on Ubuntu it's called libmono-winforms2.0-cil). To run SMath:
Open a terminal and cd into the directory where you extracted the SMath archive. Run mono SMathStudio_Desktop.exe and SMath will open up.
