I see this has been asked before from time to time, the last time about 3 years ago. I would like to raise it again.
Would it be possible to have a 'tabbed' interface, where one could switch quickly between pages (worksheets) by selecting the appropriate tab; also, to be able to drag a tab or group of tabs out onto the desktop as a separate SMath window? Like one can do with most current web browsers and some pdf editors; this is rather different from Excel tabs, which are multiple pages within the same workbook.
This presumes it must be possible to open multiple SMath windows, with multiple Pages (worksheet tabs) within each window, and to pull tabs, singly or in groups, to other SMath windows or onto the desktop where they would become new SMath windows. This would be in addition to the current Pages function, which would work at least within the current window.

1. You can have as many Smath documents as you wish. Simply open new Smath instance after the 1rst, 2nd ... etc. 2. If a pertaining piece of work is short ► insert between separators. That will allow tabbing from pages to pages. 3. You can fake the absent functionality wherever you want by inserting a region that generates ■ as you click on the ■ on the scroll bar you reach your desired either page or region of the document(s). Try something from the attached ... like/dislike/comments. Cheers ... Jean. Utilities Discrete COMPANION_1 Copy.sm (590kb) downloaded 30 time(s).

Jean, what you say is correct; but what I am asking is somewhat different. I want to separate have SMath, maybe on different screens, with several worksheets in each window, so I can easily compare, switch between them, or maybe just switch my focus as the (bird-like?) failure of my attention takes me.

Gerard, Between You and Me Most Smath Designers are aware of Mathcad/Mathsoft The "Go to" was demonstrated [Mathsoft]. I posted few examples ... Was not used by none. An Engineering document is a stand alone piece of work. What's the use of go here /there ? The attached demo can be be visited for independent pieces. Revisit Samples Symbolic Compendium [few weeks ago]. I will not TOC that document, it is a learning suite. Cheers ... Jean Convol.sm (120kb) downloaded 22 time(s).

This would be in addition to the current Pages function, which would work at least within the current window. I was just about posting the same feature request, this is pretty much what I would like. I kinda like the cloud version because I can have multiple document in different tab and drag and drop on different monitor, but I don't know how to install plugin on the cloud, so it is a no go. Right now it is a little awkward to have multiple documents open at the same time: since they occupy the same window (on Win10 at least), it is not immediately clear how many documents are currently open, unless you go to click on "documents" on the toolbar. I know I can open how many instance of SS I want, but then I've got to open the file I want from menu within program window, go trough the file picker and find the file I'm looking for, because if I open the file from the explorer, it will open on the first instance of SS and not in the new one. Since I am new to SS and still learning it, I find useful using others files as reference while working on my own. Let me add to your request my suggestion that I find work very well with a tabbed interface: it would be nice if unsaved documents were not lost when exiting the program like in notepad++. Sometimes I find that I just need to scribble down some calculations, but I am not ready or sure if worth saving, but also I don't want to loose them just in case. I really like this notepad++ feature that let me to be very flexible, but I also understand that a notepad++ is only text, where SS file are a little more complicated and dynamic with rendering calculations and maybe images.

What you are saying is Win 10 just evaporates, w/o prompt ? My TOC demo convol.sm is for convenient visit within same document. Multiple instances of Mathematica 4.0 ... Mathcad 11 tile are about same ... click on each to check which one to open then click to open ► 2 clicks. Smath Win 7, click Smath tool bar for the list of instances click the selected instance ► 2 clicks Simply deceptive or deceptively simple

1. convol fake TOC is fine to for so few I have. 2. Tab miscellaneous instances is natural simple. Writer region is already an instance of its own.

Hi. I have no idea if it is possible or not, but in Microsoft Office this can be achieved using a plugin. Here you can see one of the many available: From: https://www.extendoffice.../product/office-tab.htmlPerhaps this is also the case for SMath. Best regards. Alvaro.

Your very first visit 2 days ago is all-in-all Besides previous discussion, use Win facilities. From my Win 7 task bar, I can browse my demand, click the object ... here is. Click SmathFile [pretty long] ... data, images ... Click PDF ... all by list All that stuff from a single task bar icon.

My suggestion of the task bar menu may be proposed otherwise, i.e: Mathcad 11 style drop down menu My Site from an icon right to 'Help'. Click on the wish list ... there is on the same Smath screen. No echo from Designers from years above ? Copy from one screen ... paste to another ?
