Hello! Today I want to inform you about availibility of Bug Tracking system for SMath projects. You can access it here: http://smath.info/bts/It allows to create reports about bugs and requests for features. It allows to vote for a tickets, so I can understand how much community need requested change. You can post comments for already registered tickets, add attachments and do everything you may need there. Please use it instead of Feature Requests and Bugs & Problems sub-forums here. In future I will remove these parts of the forum. It is not required but if possible, please move your requests from the forum to bugs tracker. Thanks you! Edited by user 22 March 2014 15:28:01(UTC)

Thanks for setting up the tracking system.
Seems that a separat registration is required, ordinary forum id/passwd don't work. After registration I found the place where to add a query, but failed to find where to add an issue. |

1. Andrey, would you mind us to use the tracking system for the plugin development as well? I have quite a list of issues with the Maxima plugin, currently part of the active book.
2. Is it possible to allow embedded images in the issue description text and in the comments? Most of the issues would benefit from illustration by screenshot. It would be much easier to browse the forum for users, e.g. if they are searching for a specific problem or just want to vote. |

The crosslinks in the forum posts all are broken (at least all I tried so far). Obviously, the adresses of old posts have changed. Thus either Andrey can correct that (set up some redirection) or you might need to check whatever references to forum posts you might need. This would affect quite some links in the interactive book and in the pdf Handbuch. |

I can give the answer myself: Yes, it is possible, just paste images to the editor window. No need to attach images separately! |

I think, that interlinking related issues in the tracking system might be a useful means of structuring the contents.
Currently, the [add related issue] button requires the user to know in advance the id of the issue to add.
I'd recommend to add an issue selector, where one can browse the existing issues and select the desired ones. That is, of course, a nice-to-have feature. |

Andrey, nice to see that the email notification seems to get alive. However, the links point to localhost. Quote:More information on this issue can be found at http://localhost/BugNet/Issues/IssueDetail.aspx?id=133 Also, I would propose to only set an issue as completed if the fix is available for download. Otherwise users might encounter the issue entries and not find them in the open issues list. This might lead to spurious issues or users wasting their time searching for local causes of problems. As for the Maxima plugin, I usually stick to 80% if the issue is fixed but the update is not released yet. Martin |
