Hi, I have a problem with the integral. Please find the exemplary attached to this post. I have defined several variables and their units. In my opinion, everything is OK but SMath does not solve it when the temperature is defined as a vector T, or solve only the first integral if temperatures are defined separately (as T.1 and T.2). Can you explain to me why SMath cannot solve this integral? int_issue.sm (9kb) downloaded 22 time(s).Best regards, dzon_doe

Sure it integrates an integrand and more. int_issue.sm (12kb) downloaded 19 time(s).

To be honest, your explanation is not clear for me but I noticed that you removed all units. And in my sheet, it also works. Does the units the source of the problem? Best regards, dzon_doe

You first wrote: Can you explain to me why SMath cannot solve this integral ? Now you reply: And in my sheet it also works. Maths are unitless, so I reject carrying units, there are very many instances not supporting units. Units were discussed ad nauseum in Mathsoft forum, in > 125000 exchanges: not a single work sheet in units. Cheers ... Jean

Maxima can handle integrals with units. Yet the restriction applies that the integration variable must be undefined. int_issue_Kr_units.sm (11kb) downloaded 24 time(s). |
