Solution of the 1D consolidation problem for a homogeneous soil layer. Any initial pore pressure vs depth can be used and conditions of free boundary drainage and/or no drainage can be input. Finite differences are used to solve the governing partial differential equation. Computed results are: 1) pore pressure profile vs depth at any time and, 2) Percentage degree of consolidation vs time. Computation time is highly dependent on the number of subdivision layers along the soil profile. Hope this is helpful. Oscar Consol1aa.sm (46kb) downloaded 48 time(s).
