Hello,
Please, does someone of you has the source code from this document, adapted to SMath ?

Thanks for your attention, but when we have nothing to say it is not compulsorily to say it…

Hi,
There are some posts about FEM here in the forum, if you search for them you can find valuable contributions. Additionally, I can share with you some of my work, please feel free to ask/comment: https://github.com/oscam...gn/tree/master/SMath/FEM

Regards,

Oscar

Hi Oscar,

Thank you for your answer.
I took a look on your works. I found them very interesting, dealing with a lot of sides of the structural analysis, all in a comprehensive style.

During the time, I also saw some other contributions available on the forum. The major parts are limited to some basic problems, derived by unipersonal producers.

I think that SMath is very suitable for the creation of such tools especially based on its specific features (transparence, nice formula representation, units, etc.).

I wonder if another kind of Structural Analysis Initiative can be imagined in the frame of SMath Forum. A lot of peoples manifested their competences for the Structural Analysis.
An idea could be found in the Roark’s use in Mathcad (https://www.mathcad.com/en/blogs/roarks-for-ptc-mathcad-prime-4)

https://en.smath.com/for...ad-interactive-Book.aspx

I published myself a document contained SMath applications of the Eurocode 3:
https://www.amazon.fr/s?...+compagnon+of+eurocode+3

The available link of SMath with Maxima could be a very powerful feature. That’s why my question on the availability of the code, totally written as text in the mentioned document.

Best Regards,
Ioan

Ioan,
Your idea is an exciting proposal, and I think some of us might be interested in developing a work similar to the one you mention (Finite Elements for Truss and Frame Structures: An Introduction Based on the Computer Algebra System Maxima), either in the form of an interactive notebook or as a textbook.
I would be happy to participate if you want to develop this project. Count me in.

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that similar initiatives derived in the development of plugins, for example, for calculating fluid properties ( CoolProp, Prode), ...,etc.

best,

Oscar
