I would definitely support this. But it will require essential code change. And it wouldn't be easy I suppose. Wouldn't expect it to be implemented. Mean while, you can use text region for that purpose. Won't be easy to write, won't look as good as math region. But it will serve you what you seek. Greetings, I would be against this feature as well. As Overlord indicated, support already exists to produce an effect similar to that requested. On the other hand, as a programmer; I would have no idea how you could easily implement this: - Even if you limit it to just temperature units, change in temperature is still a temperature unit (i.e., 'Δ°C; 'Δ°F; 'Δ°Re) (e.g., ... = 112.55°F⛅ = 572.22°FΔ = ...)
- Would have to be limited to base units only (as you could have a infinite combinations of units to result in the 'unit' (e.g., need to include {'Δ°C*'Δ°Re}/'Δ°F as a temperature unit ...)
- Decimal places: not all units are the same! Units of length: inch vs. miles, mm vs lightyears; need to compare really small units against very large units.
- Is metric to list all prefixes? ..., nm, μm, mm, cm, dm, m, dam, hm, km, Mm, Gm, Tm, ... ; can easily become overwhelming.
- Creating an interface to manage such a feature may actually be more complicated then the "current support"
I do understand the appeal; you could also explore using sys() to report your units if you are trying to achieve a dual units effect (seams to work 'okay' for simple/base units): - Kenny Lemens, P.E. ᵂᴵ |
