OK, then how about double-click?
If you can resize by mouse action all over the region, why do you need the placeholders? Resizing just by dragging any point inside would be easier than to point at the tiny markers...

BTW, if the image is displayed using an image region (by uni), then the image export is silently blocked for the rest of the session, even if the image region is removed afterwards. This might as well happen if other software has the images open. Thus I would recommend to issue an error message if export fails (if that can be checked).

Double click seems a good solution, at least as idea... I don't know if the image region causes issues.... Btw export reports are available in the bottom left corner of smath

Cool.

BTW: The region is not Ctrl-drag-proof.

what is supposed to do ctrl+drag ? something wrong happens to me with this key combination: after a ctr+drag one more frame is created, see the problem in this video. I'm using the unofficial portable version.

Sorry for being unspecific, see attachment. To relieve you have to press continue and then ESC to drop the copy operation.

Handbook page for Snapshot region added.

@kilele: your video shows, that you are writing a snapshot doc as well, is that right? If so, how about a bit of co-ordination? I really do not insist on documenting everything myself and would be happy to integrate contributions to the activebook (can be done via SVN). There is plenty of white spots, a lot of work yet to do...

I'd propose to write the export files with white background instead of translucent. Perhaps this might be an option. The problem shown in the attached image could also be solved by the image region providing white background. But that would not be entirely equivalent, because the Image region is currently unaware of the image dimensions.

That's an image region feature, the exported PNGs are not transparents (try yourself opening the images with an image editor)

If a file with Snapshot regions is opened and then saved at a different location, the default snapshot save path still points to the location of the original file. I propose to change this such that default save location is always the directory where the SMath sheet resides.

I experience an "insufficient memory" error when exporting "all" snapshots in the attached sheet. It is possible to recover from the error message. Individual export works.
